Redcar have readjusted their programme on Friday in order to give them every chance of beating an inclement weather forecast.
The seven-race card has been extended to an eight-race programme through the division of the contest for Maidens over six furlongs.
This is to facilitate the running of six races on the straight course in the event that races over the round course have to be abandoned.
The running order has also been altered to facilitate these changes. The safety factors for the straight mile and seven furlong contests have also been reduced to ensure the fixture has then best possible chance of taking place.
The ground is currently heavy, soft in places and further rainfall is expected.
Clerk of the course James Sanderson said: "At present we are raceable, however, much more rain will certainly put the round course in jeopardy. Therefore, by altering the programme slightly we have every possible chance of staging a race meeting consisting of at least six races on the straight course."
