Redknapp admits Defoe interest
Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp has revealed he has been in touch with former club Tottenham about striker Jermain Defoe.
Redknapp made an enquiry regarding the England international, but admits he is struggling to bring him to Loftus Road.
Spurs are prepared to listen to bids for Defoe, who also played under Redknapp at West Ham and Portsmouth.
"I'd love to have Jermain. We made an enquiry but at the moment he's not available," Redknapp said in the London Evening Standard.
"We're nowhere near anything. There is a small chance of it happening."
Redknapp is desperate to sign another striker after Loic Remy completed a loan move to Newcastle earlier in the week.
QPR have already suffered frustration over one target, Gary Hooper - who opted to join Norwich from Celtic.
