Prop Kylie Leuluai is facing the threat of a two-match ban which could rule him out of Leeds' bid to return to the Grand Final.
Leuluia, who has missed only one of the Rhinos' 34 matches so far this season, has been charged with a grade B offence of punching during his side's 42-20 play-off win over Wakefield on Saturday.
He is alleged to have punched Wakefield winger Peter Fox in the last minute of the match. The offence carries a ban of one or two games.
Leuluai had the option of entering an early-guilty plea, which would have resulted in an automatic one-match suspension, but has decided instead to contest the charge and could now be banned for two games if he is found guilty when he appears in front of a Rugby Football League disciplinary committee.
Leeds play Catalan Dragons in the first preliminary semi-final in Perpignan on Friday night, hoping to secure a place in the last four against Wigan or St Helens a week later.
Leuluai was cited by the RFL's match-review panel, which issued formal cautions to his Leeds team-mate Carl Ablett and Fox, also for punching during the same incident.
Huddersfield second row forward Brett Ferres will also appear before the disciplinary panel to answer a charge of committing a grade B dangerous throw on Hull hooker Danny Houghton during his side's 46-10 play-off defeat at the KC Stadium.
