Rhinos rule out Bailey loan

Leeds Rhinos chief executive Gary Hetherington insists no first-team players will be loaned out while they remain involved in head coach Brian McDermott's team.

Veteran prop Ryan Bailey has not been a regular first-choice selection so far this season, culminating in interest from rivals Castleford Tigers and Bradford Bulls.

However, Hetherington says Leeds are against stretching their squad any further, with Alex Foster, Thomas Minns, James Duckworth (all London Broncos), Jimmy Keinhorst and Luke Briscoe (Wakefield Wildcats) already out on loan.

"We are running on pretty small numbers. We've only used dual-registration once this season, because all our squad are playing," Hetherington told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

No flexibility

"We don't have any flexibility there as most players are playing pretty regularly. There's been nobody sat on the sidelines for a few weeks unable to play.

"If everybody was 100 per cent fit and we had a situation where one or two players were not getting in the side we would look at them possibly going out on loan."

Bailey, a six-time Grand Final winner with Leeds, is contracted to the Rhinos until the end of the 2015 season after rejecting a move to the NRL last July to stay with Leeds.
