Leam Richardson praised Francis Jeffers after his brace helped Accrington to a 4-0 win over AFC Wimbledon.
Former Arsenal striker Jeffers scored his first goals in English football since 2009, curling home into the top corner after five minutes before pouncing on a rebound to head number two 14 minutes later.
Will Hatfield's 32nd-minute strike and Lee Molyneux's effort midway through the second half sealed Stanley's biggest win of the season over their relegation rivals.
Richardson said: "I have known Franny can score goals and it doesn't matter whether it's Arsenal or Accrington, goalscoring is unique and you have got to take your chances and Franny did against AFC Wimbledon.
"Franny is a good lad, he is great around the dressing room and he deserved his goals for his workrate."
Jeffers said: "It was great to get an early goal. That's what it is all about and it doesn't matter who scores as long as the team wins. I felt my first goal was lucky but I enjoyed my second one. It was a poacher's goal which is the type I like to score.
"It was an ideal performance with grit and flair and the lads defended well. It was a team game and we have seven games left and we will be doing everything we can, and I am confident we will stay up.
"I want to repay Leam as he has shown belief in me when others have thought I was finished."
