Leicester Riders took a big step towards winning the BBL Championship regular-season title for the first time after beating Newcastle Eagles.
Kareem Maddox claimed a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds as the Riders downed the Eagles 80-69 to extend their lead at the top of the standings to eight points.
Having also beaten Newcastle earlier in the season, Leicester now hold the advantage in the head-to-head series and means they need to only win two of their remaining seven matches to clinch the regular-season crown.
In the night's other match, seventh-placed Sheffield Sharks boosted their play-off hopes with an 82-67 win over fifth-placed Plymouth Raiders, who have already secured their place in the post-season.
