Riverside opener for Boro

Middlesbrough’s 2014/15 Championship campaign begins at the Riverside Stadium where they will play host to Birmingham City on August 9.

Trips to Elland Road and the Reebok Stadium follow as Aitor Karanka's side face Leeds United and Bolton Wanderers in the space of three days.

After a 12th-place finish last term, Karanka will be hoping to lead Boro further up the table and towards play-off contention.

Middlesbrough make the trip to the Welsh capital to face promotion favourites Cardiff City on September 16 before hosting Fulham on October 4.

The Teesside club welcome promotion candidates Nottingham Forest to the Riverside Stadium on Boxing Day, before travelling to Ewood Park to face Blackburn Rovers two days later.

The season run-in sees Boro travel to face Norwich City and Fulham, both relegated from the Premier League last term, in consecutive weeks before a season finale with Brighton on home soil on May 2.
