Robbo: Defeat not an option

Karl Robinson insists MK Dons' FA Cup tie against non-league Dover is a game his side can ill-afford to lose.

The Dons boss is looking to steer the Milton Keynes club into the third round of the competition for the third successive year.

Skrill Conference South outfit Dover stand in his way and the Kent club could fancy their chances of an upset given the current form of Robinson's team, who have lost seven of their last nine league matches.

However, Robinson sees defeat for the Dons as unthinkable and feels a victory could breathe new life into their season.

"It's a game we want to win, we have to win," said Robinson. "We can't get beaten by Dover. We have to put in a performance like we did against Halifax (in the previous round).

"When you're in a slump like we are at the minute, it's a case of how to get out of it and this might be the catalyst we need.

"We won't be taking themk lightly, we'll show Dover the utmost respect - we had them watched at the weekend and we understand what we're going to do to beat them.

"But at the end of the day it is a realistic opportunity for us to progress. We want to be in the third round because it'll be a wonderful testament to us to get to that level for the third year in a row; we'll be very proud of that. Financially it'll be good for us too."
