Robins sign up new physio

Bristol City have appointed Michael McBride as the club's new physio.

McBride, physio for the Scottish national team, will leave his current post at Coventry to succeed the outgoing Nick Dawes in the position.

"I was fortunate because Bristol approached Coventry for my services, which is always nice to hear, but it was important for me to stay at Championship level because there is an international break in the Championship and there isn't in League One, so that was a big factor for me," McBride told Bristol City's official club website.

"I was in America with Scotland in the summer for my 80th international game and I really enjoy doing that as well as my club stuff, so working in the Championship was what I wanted to continue doing."

McBride, 38, will take up his post at Ashton Gate on July 1, bringing to an end nine years at Coventry.
