Robinson in Blackpool frame

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson is a contender for the vacant managerial post at Blackpool, Sky Sports understands.

Blackpool are searching for a new boss after Paul Ince was sacked as manager on Tuesday, after a poor run of form in the Championship.

Seasiders skipper Barry Ferguson will take charge of training on Thursday and has been linked with replacing Ince, but Robinson is thought to figure highly on Blackpool's shortlist.

Blackpool are believed to have held a long-term interest in Robinson and were linked with a move for the Liverpool-born manager prior to Ince's appointment last February.

Robinson is regarded as one of the brightest young managers around after taking over as MK Dons boss in 2010 at the age of 29, making him the youngest manager in the Football League in the process.

In his first two seasons in charge at Stadium mk he guided the club to the League One play-offs and has also enjoyed a number of impressive FA Cup runs.

MK Dons would be loathe to lose Robinson, but the 33-year-old is believed to have his admirers within the corridors of power at Bloomfield Road.
