Rocks off to hot start
Glasgow Rocks got their British Basketball League season off to a successful start with a 100-63 drubbing of Surrey Heat at Emirates Arena.
Spurred on by a 34-point burst in the first quarter, the Glasgow club made easy work of the visitors, with Chez Marks pouring in a game-high 20 points.
Elsewhere, Plymouth Raiders needed to work overtime to get ther first win of the season, Donald Robinson impressing with 24 points in their 89-87 defeat of Newcastle Eagles.
Cheshire Phoenix were too strong for Manchester Giants, winning 83-71. Reggie Middleton was the game's leading scorer with 21 points for Phoenix, while Stefan Gill finished with 19 for Giants, who have now lost all three matches.
