Rose among leaders in Palm Harbour

Justin Rose moved into a share of the lead at the Valspar Championship after a three-under-par 68 on day two at the Innisbrook Resort.

The 33-year-old Englishman started on the back nine, making immediate inroads with a birdie at the 10th in Florida, while he picked up further shots at the 14th, first and fifth holes.

Two bogeys pegged him back before he finished his round with a birdie to ensure he was one of six competitors at the top of the leaderboard.

Last year's US Open champion is level with Americans Pat Perez, Robert Garrigus, Michael Putnam and Matt Every, and 20-year-old Italian Matteo Manassero on three under par overall.

Jim Furyk is among six players a shot further back after following up a level-par round on Thursday with a two-under 69.

Rose's compatriot Luke Donald is currently on one under for his round and the tournament after six holes.
