Rosler keen to move on

Wigan boss Uwe Rosler said he would forgive his players and quickly move on after their poor first-half display in Monday's 2-0 defeat at Burnley.

Ashley Barnes and Michael Kightly both struck in the first half as Burnley clinched automatic promotion, meaning Wigan must secure two more points from their remaining three games to guarantee a play-off place.

"It's seldom that we have a performance like we've had against Burnley," Rosler told the club's official website.

"We've all got to take lessons from the performance including myself.

"We've got to move on to the next game quickly because it gives us the chance to get into the play-offs.

"I'll excuse the players for that performance because they have been fantastic to me and it's very, very seldom that we've played like we did in the first half."

Latics face relegation battlers Blackpool (home) and Birmingham (away) in their next two matches before a last-day visit to Blackburn.

"Blackpool and Birmingham City have a lot to play for and we play them both so it's not going to be easy," Rosler added.

"Sometimes we've struggled against teams in the bottom half of the table so we know they will be tough games and we can't afford to make any mistakes."
