Rovers lose Eden for season
Hull KR are counting the cost of their derby defeat on Sunday after Greg Eden was ruled out for the rest of the season.
Eden was hurt just before half-time at MS3 Craven Park and his departure hurt badly as Rovers, who led 8-6 at the interval, went on to lose 38-20 and put their play-off hopes in serious jeopardy.
The Red and Whites had already lost Rhys Lovegrove to a rib injury before kick-off and, with their next game coming on Friday against Leeds Rhinos, coach Craig Sandercock fears having to put out an under-strength team.
"Greg is out for the rest of the season," he said. "It's disappointing, especially as we'd already lost Rhys (Lovegrove) in the warm up.
"We then lost Greg before half-time. We had chances but a few very poor individual errors in the second half cost us dearly. Other than that, it was nip and tuck for long periods.
"All I'm worried about at the moment is finding 17 fit players to field at Leeds.
"Of course we missed the eight players who didn't play but we had no right to even compete against what Hull had out there. Yet we were still in a position where we could have won that game against all the odds.
"I was really happy with the way every one of my players played. I was really happy that we competed hard and we had no right to win or be in that game at all."
