Sabres rattle Hurricanes

Christian Ehrhoff scored twice for Buffalo Sabres in a 3-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes as the NHL returned following the Winter Olympics.

Ehrhoff's second of the night was the game winner with just 43.4 seconds left on the clock in the third period.

Eric Staal had cancelled out his first period opener, with Tyler Ennis putting Buffalo back in front before Alexander Semin levelled the scores for a second time.

Ryan Miller, who Buffalo confirmed is on the trading block, made 36 saves for the Sabres.
