Saltonstall extends loan

Warrington youngster James Saltonstall has extended his loan at Bradford Bulls by another month.

Saltonstall has played in all three of the Bulls' pre-season friendlies and the Italy international will stay for the start of the Super League season.

"We are really pleased to see James staying around for another month, he is a great guy to have around the place," said Bradford head coach Francis Cummins.

"He has worked extremely hard since he arrived and he has certainly put himself about while on duty in the trial games.

"James will be continuing training with the first-team squad, upping the competition levels out wide while adding further pressure for places."

Wolves head coach Tony Smith added: "At the moment we are happy for James to stay at Bradford, until we look at things further down the line.

"We will be working out what is the best spot for him, either at Bradford or back with ourselves, but we will certainly look at that in the coming weeks."

Experience

Saltonstall arrived the club along with Wolves youngsters Joe Philbin and Tom Walker last month and the front row pair have returned to Warrington.

Cummins said: "They have been great and have contributed well during our pre-season campaign.

"I believe they have benefited from the experience, being thrown straight in at the deep end with the rest of the squad, while competing for us in two or three friendly games each."

Smith added: "To be able to play a game or two for Bradford was a great experience for them and they have certainly come back better young men and better for the experience. I think it was a win, win situation - all round."
