Same approach for Davis

Steve Davis has urged his Crewe side to approach Saturday's crucial meeting with Preston with a business-as-usual mentality.

The Alex head into the season finale just a place above the drop zone and a mere point ahead of fourth-bottom Tranmere.

They could have a second threat, too, should Carlisle keep their survival hopes alive by beating Crawley on Tuesday evening.

Davis, though, insists nothing will impact his approach, saying: "We will approach the Preston game in much the same way.

"We don't want the build-up to be different because the players can sense that and it can play on their mind.

"We don't want to cause unnecessary anxiety amongst them and make sure they are only focussed on what we need to do.

"It is another cup final for us but we approached the play-offs and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final (last season) in the same manner."
