
Tatenen, who unseated rider at the Canal Turn in the Grand National, could bid for compensation in the Bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown.
His handler Richard Rowe has tasted success in Saturday's race both as a rider on Shady Deal in 1982 and as a trainer with Eulogy in 1999.
"He's got a couple of little nicks and if you get away with that after any race you've done well," the West Sussex trainer told At The Races.
"He's a little bit stiff, but he's getting better each day and there's a possible chance he could go to Sandown for the Bet365, the old Whitbread."
