Schmeichel hails performance

Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel was delighted with his side's 1-0 win at Leeds, but played down his involvement in the winning performance.

The Championship leaders continued their dominance at the top of the league, making the gap between their nearest rivals seven points thanks to David Nugent's 88th-minute strike.

However, it was Schmeichel who kept the Foxes on equal terms thanks to his heroics, stopping Leeds striker Ross McCormack in the first half.

"It is my job at the end of the day," he said. "It's a massive result to keeps us going and we have shown today we can be resilient.

"Leeds played well and had a good couple of chances but it keeps us going."

Schmeichel was also quick to talk up Leicester's rise to the top of the division through their performances.

He said: "I think the belief has been there all the time (to get promotion), we have a good squad and a good set-up. It's up to the players and we have responded well this season.

"We are not getting carried away and hopefully we can keep grounded."
