Schurrle hails 'great' Hazard

Andre Schurrle was full of praise for Eden Hazard for inspiring his hat-trick in Chelsea's 3-1 win at Fulham.

The German doubled his goal tally for the club inside 17 impressive minutes at Craven Cottage and two of those goals came with considerable help from Hazard.

The Belgian played a lovely cross-field ball for his first goal, seven minutes after the break, and was also Fulham's chief tormentor when playing in Schurrle for the second on what was his 100th appearance for the club.

Schurrle said: "He's a great player and everybody knows that.

"When we are on the pitch he can take on two or three people and we make a run and he sees us."

Modest Schurrle was also keen to play down his individual achievements, admitting it was far more important to him that Chelsea won the west London derby and maintained the pressure on their title rivals.

The Blues are four points clear of Liverpool and Arsenal with 10 games left with Manchester City two points further back, but with two games in hand.

"I'm really happy but the most important thing is the win, we needed the three points and we got it, so it was a good afternoon," he added.

"I'm really happy for the three goals but I'm more happy for the three points.

"It's important for me of course, I want to play and I want to score goals for this great team and the great fans of this club. When I'm on the pitch I try my best and today it went well.

"We are top and we want to stay there. We have to believe we can win this."
