Scolari suffers family loss
The nephew of Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has been killed in a car accident just two days before the team's World Cup opener, police have confirmed.
Tarcisio Joao Schneider, the 48-year-old son of one of Scolari's sisters, died in a crash on Tuesday morning after being in collision with a truck in Bitrem, in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul.
It is less than a month since Scolari left Brazil's training camp outside Rio de Janeiro to travel to Porto Alegre for the funeral of his brother-in-law.
The Brazilian Football Federation would not confirm whether Scolari has plans to travel during the World Cup to be with his family.
Despite his nephew's death, Scolari stayed with Brazil's squad during the rest of the training session in Teresópolis today.
Scolari is also going to Rio de Janeiro tonight with the Brazilian squad and from then will go to São Paulo, where Brazil will train tomorrow at the Arena de São Paulo (Itaquerão) stadium.
