Scott announces retirement

Wicketkeeper Ben Scott has retired from professional cricket after being released by Worcestershire.

The 31-year-old arrived at New Road on loan from previous employers Middlesex in 2010 and went on to make 33 first-class appearances for the Pears.

Brett D'Oliveira, Matthew Pardoe, Neil Pinner and Chris Russell have all been offered new deals at Worcestershire.

Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes said: "All four of these youngsters have played their part for the first XI during a difficult season, we do expect them to kick-on and improve as players as their careers progress."
