Seal plunge hinges on rain

Seal Of Approval's participation in Saturday's bet365 Lancashire Oaks is still up in the air despite the mare being declared in the Group Two.

James Fanshawe's five-year-old was a winner on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot last year and made a pleasing return when fourth in the Yorkshire Cup.

While connections are keen to run, rain is needed for the daughter of Authorized.

A statement on Fanshawe's website read: "We would love to run Seal Of Approval in the Lancashire Oaks, but unless they get a lot of rain which is not forecast between now and Saturday she won't."

Seal Of Approval is one of 12 declarations which include the unbeaten John Gosden pair Pomology and Sultanina.

Charity Line will make her debut for Marco Botti having won a Group One in Italy, with last year's Oaks winner Talent also declared.

Moment In Time, Astonishing and Johnny Murtagh's We'll Go Walking are other runners.
