Seasiders announce retained list
Kevin Phillips and Elliot Grandin are among the players to secure another year with Blackpool after the club announced its retained list.
Veteran striker Phillips, 38, enjoyed his most productive season in front of goal for more than a decade as he topped the Seasiders' scoring charts with 17 in all competitions.
Grandin spent the second half of the season on loan with Nice having requested a return to his native France due to a family issue and the attacking midfielder is a surprise inclusion among the 13-strong list of players whom Blackpool have taken up the option of a further 12 months on.
Keith Southern is now set for a 10th campaign in the Blackpool midfield and will be joined next term by Neal Eardley, Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Ludovic Sylvestre, Mark Halstead, Ash Eastham, Liam Tomsett, Tom Barkuizen, Adam Dodd and Chris Kettings.
Brett Ormerod - who scored in all four divisions for Blackpool across two spells with the club - is released alongside fellow striker Daniel Bogdanovic, defender Matt Hill and midfielder Stephen Husband.
Forward duo Roman Bednar and Lomana LuaLua are in discussions over their futures, while young striker Louis Almond is expected to put pen to paper shortly. Professional terms have been offered to youth team scholars Curtis Thompson, Jamie Menagh, Matt Challoner and Alex Addai.
