Secret back at York
Ralph Beckett is looking forward to seeing his top-class filly Secret Gesture make her return to action in the Middleton Stakes at York.
The daughter of Galileo won the Lingfield Oaks Trial 12 months ago and went on to fill the runner-up spot in the Oaks at Epsom, finding only stable companion Talent too strong in the mile-and-a-half Classic.
She was narrowly beaten in the German Oaks and was third in the Yorkshire Oaks to confirm herself one of the leading three-year-old fillies of last year.
Beckett said: "The plan is for her to run in the Middleton, all being well.
"I'm very happy with her and she's in good shape.
"The ground isn't important and we're looking forward to getting her started."
Stablemate Cubanita, whose victory over Noble Mission in Newbury's John Porter Stakes last month looks strong form now, is set to step up to a mile and three-quarters for the first time in Friday's Yorkshire Cup.
Beckett said: "I've always wanted to go further with her, so it will be good to see how she goes."
