Seeds tumble out in Auckland

Two seeds were eliminated on the opening day of the Heineken Open in Auckland as Jerzy Janowicz and Martin Klizan were defeated.

Number five Janowicz surrendered an early advantage to go down 4-6 7-6 (7/5) 6-4 to American Brian Baker after seventh seed Klizan had lost another lengthy encounter 7-6 (7/4) 3-6 6-3 to Xavier Malisse.

Eighth seed Thomaz Bellucci had a far more straightforward time in dispatching David Goffin 7-6 (7/5) 6-2, while wildcard Olivier Rochus topped Albert Ramos 6-2 5-7 6-2 to progress.
