Willstrop out in semi-finals

James Willstrop's bid to win the ATCO World Tour finals at Queen's Club came to an end as he was beaten in the semis by Egypt's Amr Shabana.

Yorkshireman Willstrop recently became world number one for the first time after winning the final three World Series events of 2011 but he was unable to follow those successes up with another triumph in London after losing 13-11 11-5 to Shabana.

Four-time world champion Shabana, the fourth seed here, has already won 27 PSA World Tour titles but has yet to win in England.

"To reach the final is amazing considering the quality of players in the game at the moment and how well everyone is playing too," said Shabana. "James has the best hands in English squash and I'm very happy to get this victory."

Standing in his way in tomorrow's final will be second-seeded Frenchman Gregory Gaultier, who prevented an all-Egyptian final by defeating Shabana's countryman Karim Darwish, the third seed, 11-5 11-5.
