Sheffield Utd blunted by York

Sheffield United came back down to earth with a bump as their pre-season campaign ended in a 2-0 defeat against York.

The Blades beat Turkish giants Fenerbahce at Bramall Lane on Thursday but a much-changed XI succumbed to the Minstermen at Bootham Crescent.

Ryan Jarvis was destroyer-in-chief with two second-half goals, first bundling home after 56 minutes and then taking advantage of a Blades blunder 13 minutes later.

Nigel Clough's men, who open the League One campaign next week with a lunchtime kick-off with Bristol City, saw James Wallace and Jose Baxter limp off in the first half with injuries.
