Sherwood banking on Clouds
Oliver Sherwood is excited about the prospect of sending Many Clouds novice chasing this season.
Second in the EBF Final at Sandown in March to Close Touch, the Trevor Hemmings-owned six-year-old found fast ground against him on his final outing of the campaign.
Always viewed as a potential chaser, Sherwood is counting down the days to beginning his new career and once the rain arrives, he will be ready to run in a couple of weeks.
"Many Clouds schooled on Thursday morning," said Sherwoood. "Like many of mine he wouldn't run on the ground we have at the moment, he'd need genuinely good to soft ground.
"He's just a couple of weeks off a run, like most of them are at this stage, but I'm very happy with where he is at. I wouldn't want to be running him on tight tracks, I'll be looking for a nice galloping track but not somewhere like Cheltenham.
"Two and a half miles will be nice to start him off and he's a very exciting prospect. Everything we've done with him so far was all about what he does from here."
