Simonsig heads Arkle seven

Simonsig will take on just six rivals in the Racing Post Arkle Challenge Trophy Chase on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival on Tuesday.

Nicky Henderson's hot-favourite goes into the race unbeaten after two starts over fences, the latest of which was a facile victory in a Grade 2 at Kempton on December 27.

Main market rival Overturn stands his ground, but he'll have to race on soft conditions for the first time this season as Donald McCain has restricted him to three outings with a bit of 'Good' in the going description this campaign.

Willie Mullins' Arvika Ligeonniere and Mouse Morris' Baily Green travel over from Ireland while the field is completed by His Excellency, Majala and Tap Night.
