Simpson sets Jersey City pace
Webb Simpson moved to the top of The Barclays leaderboard midway through the second round in Jersey City.
Following a rain-affected opening day which saw Kevin Stadler finish ahead with a seven-under 64, Simpson took the lead after an early start to allow incomplete first rounds to finish.
Simpson carded a five-under-par 66 to be nine under in total, two strokes ahead of four players which included Stadler, who was due to start his round at 4.17pm local time (9.16pm GMT).
Rickie Fowler, Keegan Bradley and Adam Scott were the men tied for second with Stadler before the start of his second round, with Freddie Jacobsen, Sergio Garcia and David Lynn a further stroke back.
Bradley found the best form of the men to finish their second round, firing a flawless 63 which included seven birdies.
Fowler matched Stadler's tally of seven under from yesterday but a bogey on the par-five 17th spoilt an otherwise impressive round which saw him claim six birdies and an eagle on the 13th.
