Six Wigan youngsters get deals

Wigan have promoted six juniors into their full-time squad for Super League XVIII.

Winger Joe Burgess, stand-off Ryan Hampshire and loose forward Rob Lever, who played with the Warriors' Under-18s this year, have been given four-year contracts, while prop James Greenwood and half-back George Williams have signed three-year deals and full-back Lewis Tierney has agreed a two-year contract.

Wigan head coach Shaun Wane said: "We are looking forward to these players joining us from November.

"This season we have given a number of our own young players a chance to play first-team rugby and there is no reason why some of these boys cannot follow a similar route over the next few years."
