Smith spurns slack Saddlers
Dean Smith took little satisfaction from mere survival after Walsall's 1-1 draw with Huddersfield, saying he expects more from his players.
A second-half goal from Belgian midfielder Florent Cuvelier, on loan from Stoke and making his final appearance, wiped out a second-minute strike from Lee Novak.
Smith said: "It is success for us but not something to celebrate because we want to be better than fighting relegation.
"If we had played the whole game as we did in the second half we would have won it. But in the first half we were average.
"My aspirations are to finish as high as possible in the league, but we feel we are better than relegation fighters."
