Soler-Espinosa battles into final

Silvia Soler-Espinosa continued her run all the way to the final of the Internationaux de Strasbourg with another gruelling three-set win.

The 26-year-old, who won a two-hour epic against Camila Giorgi in the previous round, produced another marathon finish to see off American Christina McHale 5-7 7-6 (9/7) 6-3 in two hours and 46 minutes.

Soler-Espinosa stepped it up in the final set to break twice against an opponent ranked 59 places higher in the world.

In the final she will face Puerto Rico's Monica Puig who broke opponent Madison Keys twice in each set en route to a 7-5 6-3 victory in one hour and 19 minutes.
