Charlton boss Chris Powell has saluted young defender Chris Solly after his wonder-strike helped sink Blackpool on Saturday.
Solly, usually a right-back but currently filling in on the left, crashed in a 20-yard thunderbolt to secure a 2-0 victory.
"I never scored one like that," said Powell, himself a former left-back.
"He's playing out of position, but Chris Solly has been a superb player for me since I started managing the club. I'm playing him at left-back and he just gets on with the job.
"He's a real favourite of the players and the supporters because he's unruffled and he is a seven or eight out of 10 in every game.
"He hasn't scored for a while, but what a superb goal for him and for us."
