Solskjaer: Home form vital

Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer feels his side's home form will be vital if they are to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

After recent defeats on the road against Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United, Solskjaer admitted they were fixtures the Bluebirds weren't expected to win.

Cardiff currently sit bottom of the division and the Norwegian believes the forthcoming home fixtures against Norwich, Aston Villa and Hull City will be crucial if they are to climb away from the bottom three.

The recently-appointed manager believes that the recruitment of Kenwyne Jones and Wilfried Zaha would be important as they add to their attacking options.

Solskjaer said: "Considering the upcoming home matches, it will be an important month.

"We have seen that the team has improved, but now it is a matter of getting results and not just good displays.

"Hopefully, Kenwyne Jones and Wilfried Zaha will give us additional punch in the final third.

"Against Arsenal, City and United, nobody was expecting that we should get any points, but the situation is different now."
