Somerset tie down Hildreth

Somerset have confirmed that batsman James Hildreth has signed a three-year extension to his contract.

The 29-year-old has racked up 11,000 first-class runs since making his debut for the county back in 2002 and has been rewarded with a new deal.

He said: "I have always been very happy here and enjoy playing for Somerset, so I can't imagine what it would be like to go anywhere else."

Hildreth represented England at youth levels and went on to captain England Lions.
