Southgate welcomes Toulon test
England Under-21s manager Gareth Southgate is looking forward to the "different challenge" brought by this summer's Toulon Tournament.
The Young Lions boss will take an Under-20s squad to the annual competition in southern France, shortly after the European Championship qualifier with Wales on May 19.
There are 10 countries competing across two groups at the tournament, with England drawn in Group B alongside Brazil, Colombia, South Korea and Qatar.
"This will be a different challenge with the younger players in the group, as we head to the Toulon Tournament in France," Southgate said.
"That will see us playing nations from Asia and South America, so it's a different test for us.
"We need that for our development as a team and individuals, to face those different styles and experience being away with an intense programme of games."
