Spieth and Simpson get USA picks
Jordan Spieth and Webb Simpson have been named as captain's picks by Fred Couples for the United States' team in next month's Presidents Cup.
Spieth, who has enjoyed a meteoric rise this season, was added to the 10 players who qualified on the points list on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old, along with Simpson, will join Tiger Woods, Brandt Snedeker, Phil Mickelson, Matt Kuchar, Jason Dufner, Keegan Bradley, Steve Stricker, Bill Haas, Hunter Mahan and Zach Johnson in the biennial match-play tournament against an international side.
"I'm super stoked and happy I woke up this morning and it wasn't a dream," Spieth told golfchannel.com.
"You get to get out there and get all fired up. I love feeling the nerves. I love the adrenaline rush. That's what it's all about."
The International team has only won the event once since it began in 1994 - in 1998 in Melbourne - and captain Nick Price decided to select Brendon de Jonge and Marc Leishman as his picks for this year's meeting.
Adam Scott, Jason Day, Charl Schwartzel, Ernie Els, Louis Oosthuizen, Branden Grace, Richard Sterne, Hideki Matsuyama, Graham DeLaet and Angel Cabrera all qualified for the international team.
