Sporting Lisbon make Gauld bid
Sporting Lisbon have made a bid for Dundee United midfielder Ryan Gauld, Sky sources understand.
United are thought to have received a £3m offer for the 18-year-old and he is expected to fly out to Portugal for talks.
The Scottish Premiership club had been desperate to keep Gauld, rewarding him with a new deal in December, but they could not resist a large offer for the teenager.
Gauld broke into the first-team last season, scoring one goal in 11 appearances, and his impressive displays earned him the nickname 'mini Messi'.
The Scotland Under-21 international has also been linked with European giants Real Madrid and Roma, while Manchester United and Arsenal are thought to have taken an interest in him.
But Lisbon could have won the race to sign Gauld, who returned to Tannadice for pre-season training on Monday.
