St Johnstone v Partick preview

Callum Davidson will step back into the shadows this weekend after winning both games while St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright was in hospital.

Assistant manager Davidson has taken the team, along with coach Alex Cleland, during victories over Hibernian and St Mirren as Wright recovered from gall bladder surgery.

Defender Tam Scobbie is still out for the home side with an ankle injury while midfielder Murray Davidson is also absent because of a knee problem.

Callum Davidson said: "It's been good. I just stood on the sidelines talking rubbish.

"Tommy's out of hospital and I imagine he will probably be back at the game on Saturday. Whether it's in the dugout or the stand, he will be doing the team selection and the talk."

Partick Thistle's Lee Mair is set to join fellow centre-backs Conrad Balatoni and Aaron Muirhead on the sidelines.

Mair (ankle) is rated as extremely doubtful after suffering the injury in the 5-1 defeat by Celtic, while Balatoni (hand) and Muirhead (knee) are definitely out.

Kallum Higganbotham, meanwhile, is suspended while long-term absentees Isaac Osbourne (ankle) and Sean Welsh (groin) are still out.
