St Mirren boss sees positives

St Mirren boss Danny Lennon was disappointed to see his side go pointless again - but admitted his players had delivered an improved performance.

Lennon wanted a reaction from his players after last week's 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Celtic.

But though Johnny Russell's second-half penalty condemned his side to a third straight loss, he took some positives from the game.

He said: "I was disappointed not to take a single point from the game.

"The character was suspect last week and they certainly answered that today.

"We had a lot of possession. The operation went well but the patient died."
