St Mirren v Hamilton preview

St Mirren player-coach Jim Goodwin is suspended for Wednesday night's visit of Scottish Premiership new boys Hamilton.

The Irishman was shown a second yellow card for planting his forearm into the back of John Sutton's neck during Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Motherwell.

New skipper Steven Thompson - who replaced Goodwin as captain when the midfielder was promoted to Tommy Craig's coaching staff - will also miss the Accies clash at St Mirren Park with a groin strain.

Hamilton hope to have Darian MacKinnon back in their squad at St Mirren Park.

The midfielder dropped out of the team to face Inverness Caley Thistle on Saturday after being hit by a bug.

Midfielders Jon Routledge and Tony Andreu have both recovered from knee injuries but are still building up their fitness.
