Stepanek and Paes lift title
Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek cruised to victory in the men's doubles final at the US Open.
In a one-sided men's doubles finals at the US Open in New York, number four seeds Leander Paes of India and Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic wasted little time sweeping aside Alexander Peya of Austria and Bruno Soares of Brazil.
The successful duo had ended the hopes of the Bryan brothers of a calendar Grand Slam in the semi-finals and clearly entered the title game full of confidence.
Their opponents looked nervous throughout though as Stepanek and Paes took full advantage with 23 winners in the match.
Playing some of their best tennis of the tournament, the successful combination breezed through to the trophy with a 6-1 6-3 win.
