Stevenage have released nine players as they prepare for life in League Two, including top scorer Francois Zoko.

Stevenage have released nine players as they prepare for life in League Two, including top scorer Francois Zoko.

Zoko, who netted 16 times in all competitions, joins Steve Arnold, Matt Ball, Jordan Burrow, Anthony Furlonge, Michael Thalassitis and Oumare Tounkara in departing the club.

They are joined by Dani Lopez, who spent most of the season on loan at Barnet, and Craig Reid, whose contracts also came to an end.

But defender Jon Ashton, who made 40 League One starts, and goalkeeper Chris Day have signed new contracts with Boro and second-year scholars Fejiri Okenabirhie and Rohdell Gordon have been offered their first professional contracts.
