Stevenage v Watford preview
Graham Westley has called for more of the same from his players as they seek to follow up an opening League Two win with another good display against Championship outfit Watford in the Capital One Cup.
Boro emerged from their 1-0 defeat of Hartlepool with nothing but good vibes after Chris Whelpdale converted one of a number of good chances created by the home team.
"You could sense the buzz around the stadium and the feeling that the club's back alive again after the goal went in," Westley told Stevenage FC Player. "The boys were tremendous; their work-rate, desire and the sense of ambition they played with.
"They kept going forward. There was a real sense of organisation to our attacking play and defensive play and it was a real team performance. You saw players playing with pride in their performance. We made a good initial impression."
Watford's Cristian Battocchio will miss the clash at the Lamex Stadium due to international involvement.
The midfielder had originally been left out of Italy's Under-21 squad for their fixture with Romania on Wednesday but has now been drafted in and he looks set to miss the Hornets' first-round clash.
Craig Cathcart, who was absent from the 3-0 win over Bolton on Saturday, continues to struggle with a knee problem and he is expected to be ruled out of the match.
Sean Murray also missed the season-opener with an ankle problem, but he could recover in time to feature.
