Stevens leaves Gulls
Torquay United have announced they have released winger Danny Stevens from his second spell at the club.
Stevens has been back at Plainmoor for a second spell since February but manager Chris Hargreaves decided not to extend his short-term deal after he made only six appearances.
"I've had to make the difficult decision of allowing Danny to leave," Hargreaves told the club's official website. "I think a lot of him as a person and a player.
"We've had some great times as friends and team-mates, but it hasn't worked the way I wanted in the last few months and we're looking to move in a different direction.
"The budget has implications for all the players but we wish Danny all the best in his career, and he will always be a welcome face at Plainmoor because he goes down in history as one of the lads who took us back into the Football League."
Hargreaves has also placed midfielder Ben Harding and Elliot Benyon, who has made nearly 200 appearances for the Gulls across three spells, on the transfer list as he looks to refresh his squad ahead of life in the Conference.
Left-back Tom Cruise has been the opportunity to prove his fitness and earn a new contract when pre-season commences in July.
