Stoke City v Man City preview
Stoke boss Mark Hughes has delivered promising news on the availability of a number of his players on the eve of the Premier League visit of Manchester City.
Kenwyne Jones, Glenn Whelan and Jonathan Walters picked up knocks during the recent World Cup qualifiers and international friendlies - but Hughes has confirmed that all three are in contention to feature against his former club.
Deadline-day acquisitions Marko Arnautovic and Stephen Ireland could make their debuts, with Marc Muniesa (groin) the only definite absentee.
Manchester City continue to have problems in defence, with influential skipper Vincent Kompany still out with a groin injury.
Left-back Gael Clichy has also been ruled out with a minor knock while fellow defenders Micah Richards (hamstring) and Martin Demichelis (knee) are sidelined.
Aside from Joleon Lescott and Matija Nastasic, Manuel Pellegrini could call on Spanish midfielder Javi Garcia or Belgian youngster Dedryck Boyata.
Up front, in-form Alvaro Negredo is in line for his first start after scoring two goals from the substitutes' bench in City's last two games, while he also scored for Spain in their win over Finland.
But compatriot David Silva has been ruled out after returning from Spain's training camp with a slight hamstring problem.
