Stosur fights back in Osaka
Top seed Sam Stosur came from a set down to beat Virginie Razzano and reach the quarter-finals of the HP Open in Osaka.
The Australian, who claimed her maiden WTA Tour title at this event in 2009, was broken three times as she crashed 6-1 in the first set.
But she broke her French opponent twice to level the match and then prevailed in the deciding set to win 1-6 6-2 6-4.
She will face American Jamie Hampton, who disposed of Thai wild card Tamarine Tanasugarn 7-5 7-5.
Kai-Chen Chang of Chinese Taipei produced a minor upset against Australian Casey Dellacqua, winning 7-6 (7/4) 6-3, while Misaki Doi provided something for the Japanese fans to cheer with a 6-3 6-2 win over Russia's Olga Puchkova.
