Kevin Streelman's victory in the Tampa Bay Championship has lifted the American to 74th in the latest world rankings, a rise of 131 places.
Streelman was 225th at the end of 2012 and only 205th at the start of last week, but made the massive improvement after a closing round of 67 at Innisbrook saw him finish two shots ahead of compatriot Boo Weekley.
On the European Tour, Thomas Aiken's victory in the Avantha Masters lifted the South African from 129th to 90th, while runner-up Gaganjeet Bhullar of India moved from 107th to 85th.
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods can replace Rory McIlroy as world number one with a win in this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.
